Description
Expression of emotions can happen in any artwork. This one depicts the moments of separation in my relationship. At this time, I thought I could be made special by the love of another only to discover it was not so. Not as his fault, but rather as my illusion that this is so. For a special relationship only separates further, forming the foundation for expected sacrifice and intended attack. We do not realize that love is all-encompassing, there can be no vacuum for fear as either love is or is not. Where it is not, is not a relationship but rather a specialness that enforces both parties to toe a line and hand over their 'specialness' to their partners.
"Because of guilt, all special relationships have some elements of fear in them. And this is why they shift and change so frequently. They are not based on changeless love alone. And love, where fear has entered, cannot be depended on, because it is not perfect."
So when that special relationship which was bound by bodies and egos falls apart we feel that we did not seek and find, rather lost what we thought was special.
"The special relationship is the triumph of this confusion. It is a kind of union from which union is excluded, and the basis for the attempt at union rests on exclusion. What better example could there be of the ego’s maxim “Seek and do not find”?"
"The special relationship is totally without meaning without a body. And if you value it, you must also value the body. And what you value you will keep. The special relationship is a device for limiting your self to a body,". It was a lesson I needed to learn, part of my journey that the form of the partner did not matter, it was far more about the content.
