Do we ever go into battle without it? Ammunition? It forms the foundation of any attack and there will be a winner, right? The war that rages within us, for some underlying the veneer of innocence we plaster on, finds its way out at various stages of our lives. For some it may be built up grievances we hold in place, for others in truth it is just who they are, the want to defend and attack at the slightest provocation. We have enough ammunition within us built up of let downs and unfairness and we feel rightful in pulling the trigger. What of those who seem to have none? They wait, they send out their 'dogs of war' to find ammunition, to build up a stockpile of grievances sufficient to ALLOW them to pull the trigger. We start off in relationships thinking that this 'is the one', this is the one that will complete me, that will love me with all my flaws, the one that will see me and smoulder in want, who will treat me as his rightful queen. And once he makes me his, he will not...
Born in South Africa, the environment, open spaces, and interpersonal interaction was a primary source of inspiration growing up. For me, Art is one place where desire to express and explore creativity becomes truly tangible. I am now primarily inspired by thoughts of the world we live in, the truths that we believe exist, and how we live these truths. My work is based on human relationships and interactions in the physical and spiritual emotional context, these I question and turn upside down and then comment on it through my art. Qualifying as a Landscape Architect, I worked within this field in South Africa and Botswana and lectured at the University of Tswana in the Landscape Design module.
