Ever wondered why we look out on a world of such chaos? How is it in todays day and age war still continues, people are starving, racism is alive and well regardless of what people say and do, disease is prevalent globally. Ever thought it might be what we are looking for? Is it out eyes that do the searching for grieve and chaos, war and disorder? And in that could it be that they find exactly what they seek? Like scavengers we search for the meaningless, we buy into the chaos and we seem to thrive on fear - is this self inflicted life? Are we perceptually hunting for guilt and sin to validate our own innocence? To validate that we are truly the good guys and the rest of the buggers are stuck in a quagmire of nastiness? Do I embrace the title of the Dog of War willingly, eat or be eaten? Do I choose this as my survival tactic in this world? And if I don't what will happen to defenseless me?
Born in South Africa, the environment, open spaces, and interpersonal interaction was a primary source of inspiration growing up. For me, Art is one place where desire to express and explore creativity becomes truly tangible. I am now primarily inspired by thoughts of the world we live in, the truths that we believe exist, and how we live these truths. My work is based on human relationships and interactions in the physical and spiritual emotional context, these I question and turn upside down and then comment on it through my art. Qualifying as a Landscape Architect, I worked within this field in South Africa and Botswana and lectured at the University of Tswana in the Landscape Design module.
