Dear Tamantha…many thanks to your “behind the scenes” pattern and process relationship of your entries…I am familiar with the idea of pixels comprising a digital image but I would love to hear more about how you 1,000s of LAYERED LINES to create your work? This is ALL new to me…and I might think many others. Would consider it a privilege to be given a deeper glimpse ……v…best to you

No digital intervention, freehand lines only with oil on canvas. Layering is important to me, thin layers one on the other with sufficient drying time...

Now following...”If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now out foundations under them.” - Henry David Thoreau. Your work is aesthetically groundbreaking ... in both media of brush and pen, Tamantha. Wishing you the best In your aesthetic. WELCOME TO FAA!

Your comments are so appreciated Laurel, there is clearly reason for my connection to you as there is for every being in this world and life we live. Thank you for your appreciation of my work, for me every day is a blessing of time that allows me to do this.

Artist's Description

Ever felt wholly and completely safe? Ever made plans to 'secure' your future? If anything taught us that reliance on future is an illusion, this year has surely seen to that... plans made evaporated, security of self tethered on a thin mask between you and me... we placed our faith in sanitizer and separation! 2020, 'a tiny mad idea'?
Consistently we build up walls of defence, from birth to maturity we feel safety for ourselves lies in setting certain parameters in place, having plans for the future in place, boundaries that cannot be crossed, love that cannot be given, forgiveness not due, but as we have learned through an insane contrived sense of reality in 2020, these pseudo attempts evaporated into nothingness. These self made foundations of 'self' crumbled, and we wondered why?
Like the neanderthal man, we built up defence mechanism after defence mechanism, possibly forgetting to love and rather entered a 'flinch status' of existence, expecting the worst, and then seeing...

About Tamantha Williams

Tamantha Williams

Born in South Africa, the environment, open spaces, and interpersonal interaction was a primary source of inspiration growing up. For me, Art is one place where desire to express and explore creativity becomes truly tangible. I am now primarily inspired by thoughts of the world we live in, the truths that we believe exist, and how we live these truths. My work is based on human relationships and interactions in the physical and spiritual emotional context, these I question and turn upside down and then comment on it through my art. Qualifying as a Landscape Architect, I worked within this field in South Africa and Botswana and lectured at the University of Tswana in the Landscape Design module. I moved on to opening my own Graphic...
